I don’t have a magic answer. Shop with a list. Use coupons.

My big money saver is to menu plan. This keeps me from buying what I don’t need and running out at the last min. to get something I do need (buying more than I needed to start with in that trip).
I follow you on twitter.
I follow your blog.
I keep track of everything I have at home from each can of veggies to spices. This keeps me from buying items that I do not need. I update my “inventory” every two months. This has hugely helped me with my budget, because it has kept me from buying something when I don’t need it, but also keeps me in mind with what I do need when I am building my shopping list with my sales fliers.

Until I got married, the following purchases simply did not exist in my life:
)
*cable tv (or any kind of tv)
*most snack foods (if I consistently craved it for more than a week, then I might get a candy bar or bag of chips)
*new clothes (mine just don’t wear out fast enough to justify buying new clothes, except for underwear
Now I do buy snacks, but I use coupons, and pay more attention to sales. I stocked up on food and personal care items in Feb & March, so we’re eating from the pantry this month and not buying anything that isn’t free or almost-free.
We probably won’t buy personal care items for another 3-6 months, hehe.
Save money on prescriptions by asking questions and doing research. Antibiotics and some diabeties meds are free at Publix. I was quoted $386 for Oracea, found out it’s just a low dose antibiotic and asked my dr if I could try a similar generic – ended up getting it for $4! My MIL takes a 150mg XR medication that isn’t covered by her insurance, she asked her dr about it and now she takes two 75 mg pills a day instead and it costs her $10 instead of $165.

My best tip is to shop resale and thrift stores. I have gotten so many great deals throughout the years simply checking those stores before paying retail for anything. Thanks for the chance!
I am a Frugal Reality email subscriber. Thanks!
I just subscribed to Be Centsables emails. Thanks!
My favorite money-saving tip is tracking how much I spend and save. It really motivates me. I use an excel spreadsheet.

Thanks for the entry!
We recently had our home phone disconnected and now only use the cell phones…monthly savings!
We also use a dry-erase board on our refrigerator, everytime an item in the house is running low, we put it on the board. I don’t have to spend extra time checking to see if we are low on something and basically my list is already made for the store.
