In honor of Earth Month Kroger is hosting its Third Annual Design a Reusable Shopping Bag contest?

Now through May 21st you can design your own reusable grocery bag with Kroger’s easy design tool.

About The Kroger Co.’s Green Efforts:

• As one of America’s largest retailers, the Kroger Co. and its banner stores are committed to being responsible stewards of the environment.
• In 2009, Kroger and its family of stores sold an average of nearly 13,000 reusable shopping bags per day.
• We’re installing LED lighting in more of our stores, which use up to 76 percent less energy than fluorescent bulbs.
• Our SAVE 5 program trains associates to reduce energy consumption in our stores, plants, offices and distribution centers.
• In 2009, our first LEED certified store – a nationally recognized standard for sustainable buildings – opened in Oregon.

Here’s the bag I designed.  It’s simple yet gets the point across.

While you’re there be sure to vote for your favorite design. The top 10 designs will be chosen by an expert panel and the grand prize winner will receive $1,000 and will have their bag design sold in stores. Four finalists will receive $250 Kroger gift cards and five runners-up will receive $100 Kroger gift cards.

To enter this contest and my giveaway you must design a reusable bag.  (I will be checking.) Leave a comment telling me you’ve designed the bag and what name it is under. Be sure that you ad it to the Frugal Reality Group or I will not count your entry.

You DO NOT have to be a Kroger (or affiliate) shopper to design one. The Shopper Card # info is only used for those who want the credit for the free reusable bag.

2. Design a bag. Really easy and quick process.
   
3. Then “Add Your Bag to a Group”
4. Search for Existing Group: FRUGAL REALITY
   
5. Select the Frugal Reality Group and Save your bag to the group. (Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!
   
6. When you load your Shopper Card Number, you will receive a credit for a free reusable bag!

The winner of my part of the contest will receive a $25 gift card to purchase the bag they designed!  I also received a $25 gift card for my bag.
