Did you know that lead poisoning affects over one million children in the U.S.?

Most lead  based paint dangers are hidden through out the home.  To find out about the dangers of lead based paints you can visit LeadFreeKids.org You can also “like” them on Facebook and read more information there as well.

I just learned adults exposed to lead can suffer from hypertension. I had no idea! I live in a very old house that was made into apartments. How scary! :(

fact:
If your home was built before 1978, there is a good chance it has lead-based paint.
Paint chips and dust from deteriorating paint can contain dangerous levels of lead.

i learned that •Lead poisoning is not easy to detect. Sometimes no symptoms occur, and sometimes the symptoms are the same as those of more common illnesses.

I learned that some of the early signs and symptoms of lead poisoning in children are: * Persistent tiredness or hyperactivity * Irritability * Loss of appetite * Weight loss * Reduced attention span * Difficulty sleeping * Constipation

I learned I need to check my home, it was build before 1978.

I learned that lead dust can also be tracked into the home from soil outside. Not Good!!!
