Another great Pinterest find for me recently has been this tutorial by Kristan Lynn on making homemade play dough. I absolutely hate the way store bought play dough smells. While I haven’t tried this recipe yet I can imagaine that it won’t have that nasty chemical smell like the other does.
This is going on my list of fun projects for rainy days.
What You’ll Need:
- 1 C Flour
- 1 C Water
- 1/4 C Salt
- 1 TBSP Vegetable Oil
- 2 tsp Cream of Tarter
- Food Coloring (actual coloring or a kool-aid packet will do)
- Sparkles (If you wanna be a fun mom!)
- Sauce Pan and Wooden Spoon
- Little helping hands.
How To Do It:
- Mix everything together.
- Blend well until most all clumps are gone.
- Heat over medium heat and keep stirring.
- Once the mix starts to form the play doughness consistency, remove from heat.
- Knead with hands and if desired at sparkles.
- Store in air tight containers when not played with.
